Writing Affirmations
Tuesday, June 21, 2005
- Write something, write anything.
- It doesn’t have to be good.
- Make something happen in every story, page, and paragraph.
- Cleverness is not the same as happenings.
- Don’t worry about messages or themes, the story is the message and the themes.
- Don’t edit until you have enough words finished. It’s like applying detail work to a painting before coating the canvas.
- Make decisions and move the story forward.
- Don’t worry about your decisions, the writing, or the story. It’s easy to change things.
